Float, cedar & pine
This Float design is unlike any of the others. It is set in a high, irregularly shaped hand carved wooden floating frame. This frame is crafted from reclaimed red cedar wood. The internal hidden frame supporting the denim canvas is made from reclaimed pine wood, locally sourced in Windsor Forest. The needles from the pine tree are used for sourcing - reminding us that even after they've fallen from the tree, much like the seeds of the pine, their primary purpose may still await. Collectively, the irregularity of the frame and the symbolism of the materials used embody the wisdom, perspective and empowerment the obstacles and hardship of life can bring. Our unforeseen purpose may arise through the falls we endure.
More than a number
The numbering of each Earth Painting continues from our first series — a deliberate choice reflecting the dehumanising processes many refugees endure, where individuals are often reduced to statistics rather than recognised for their unique stories and inherent humanity.

Displaying your Earth Painting
When deciding where to display your Earth Painting: seek the light. The natural pigments respond beautifully to shifting light conditions. Morning light offers a crisp, soft glow; evening light brings out the warmth and depth of the pigments. You may therefore notice that the Earth Painting appears in a different 'colour'. Take your time to find a place where you can observe the interplay of light and shadow on the Earth Painting — a place where its textures and colours don’t fall flat.
