Night Sky - Pangri Zampa

The frame of this Earth Painting is made from cedar wood, native to Bhutan and the wider Himalaya region. Cedar trees are often found as guardian trees in significant locations and spaces - one striking example being the Pangrizampa Astrology School, where they acts as protectors for all its students, teachers, inhabitants and visitors. Bhutanese Astrology, in its turn, is a central practice and force for its people; guiding and protecting them through ancient wisdom that still prospers today and holds a key role in Bhutanese way of life.
